General Information for Patients

Covenant Hospital Plainview does everything possible to make your every experience with us as comfortable and convenient as possible. To that end, in this section you'll find information relating to the practical issues of hospitalization, including obtaining medical records, organ donation, interpretation services, and visiting hours/policies/parking.

Medical Records

Under federal law, all health care practitioners and facilities must grant patients access to their medical records. If you would like to request a copy of your Covenant Hospital Plainview medical records or birth certificate, please call 806.291.3330.

Organ Donation

At Covenant Hospital Plainview, we do all that we can to save as many lives as possible. But with your help, we could do even more. More than 92,000 people nationwide are on the waiting list for an organ transplant—and new names are being added every day. And unfortunately, many of those patients die before a match can be found.

We encourage all of our patients to become organ donors. Doing so will not impact the quality of care you receive—our physicians will always do absolutely all they can to save you. Only when they've exhausted all their options will our transplant teams be notified that the possibility for an organ transplant exists.

Our need for organs is great—however, it's an important decision and one we encourage you to discuss with your family. If you're a Texas resident and wish to become a donor, register here.

Interpretation Services

At Covenant Hospital Plainview, we want all of our patients to feel as comfortable as possible while at our hospital. That's why we offer an interpreter service for all non-English-speaking patients and their family members. If you need interpreter assistance, simply alert your nurse that you would like to request an interpreter and one will be provided to you.

Visiting Hours/Policies/Parking

At Covenant Hospital Plainview, our primary focus is on the well-being of our patients and visitors. The following rules and policies are designed with your comfort in mind.

Visiting Hours and Policies

Covenant general visiting hours are between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily, however, some units have varied policies. Visitors are limited to two at a time in patient rooms. Children under the age of 12 are allowed to visit patients only if they are accompanied by an adult and are properly supervised. All visitors must be free from known or suspected communicable disease. Visitation hours may change at the physician or staff's discretion.

Parking

At Covenant Hospital Plainview, parking is free of charge to patients, families, and visitors. We encourage you to use the north and northwest lots. The south lots are designated for physicians, employees, and volunteers.
